Third party companies who specialize in OSHA rules and regulations are providing the mandated forklift training required for all companies to be in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations. OSHA rules state that the forklift training must take place on-site at the company and use the company’s equipment during the forklift training. The forklift training course involves a classroom component where safety and operational guidelines are reviewed, the basic mechanics of a forklift are discussed and the proper regimen for maintenance and inspection is reviewed. A written test is then given which must be passed. The second half of the forklift training course involves a hands-on real time evaluation of the operator on the company’s equipment. Once this is done and the operator has demonstrated his proficiency, the company is in compliance with the OSHA rules and regulations.
