If your company uses forklifts, OSHA requires that you provide forklift safety training. A good forklift safety training program provides both classroom and hands-on training for employees. The safety program is completed at your location making it easy to ensure attendance by all employees who operate a forklift. The training consists of two modules. The first module is taught in a classroom environment and instructs students on the basics about operating a forklift as well as safety precautions. There is a test at the end of the program. The second module is hands-on training. Employees will get to use what they learned to actually operate the forklift while the teacher provides feedback. All new employees need to go through a training class and a refresher course is needed for others. The training course will help employees operate the forklift properly and avoid costly accidents.
